I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star Ashley Roberts has allegedly tried to distance herself from her dad and brother Jayce (Picture: ITV/Rex) The former Pussycat Doll, 31, has reportedly tried to distance herself from her debt-ridden car dealer dad Pat, despite the fact he was her number one fan when her career first took off. A family friend revealed: 'It's terribly sad. Pat used to be so close to Ashley but in recent years their relationship has become strained. 'She really was the apple of his eye and he fully supported her decision to move to Hollywood immediately after she left school to try for a showbiz career. 'No one was prouder than Pat when she became a burlesque dancer even though her routines were very risqué.' However, as Ashley and the Dolls went from strength to strength, 'Pat went from bad to worse'. 'He's a great salesman but his spending outdid his earnings,' the friend told The Mirror. 'He was forced to file for bankruptcy, which really hit the family hard. It really has been a difficult few years for everyone.' Ashley is in the running to be crowned Queen of the Jungle on tonight's show (Picture: ITV/Rex) Meanwhile, Ashley's brother Jayce was allegedly busy racking up a lengthy criminal record and now has over 30 charges to his name. The friend added: 'The family is at a loss about Jayce. He's a nice enough kid but he really has gone off the rails. 'He keeps on getting arrested and his criminal record isn't pretty. 'Ashley has distanced herself from everything. I suppose she is being careful and looking out for her career. 'We haven't seen anything of her in a while. She's close to her mum but that's about it.' But the family are said to be hoping her stint Down Under on I'm A Celebrity will change things. 'Hopefully when she leaves Australia she will come straight home and make things up with her old dad,' the insider added.
