Eric Bristow has confessed he wrongly underestimated Ashley Roberts when they initially met Down Under on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Eric, 55, also admitted he thought the former Pussycat Doll would need some looking after on first impressions.
But now the blonde bombshell has made it through to tonight's final, seeing off competition from the likes of heavyweight boxer David Haye, Eric has been forced to eat his words.
The crotchety darts champ - who was voted out on Thursday - has revealed he never expected Ashley to be so at home in the jungle.
He told The Sun: 'I thought I'd have to protect her, I was wrong'
Speaking about Ashley while he was still in the jungle, Eric said previously: 'She's done well. I didn't give her a chance when I saw her, I thought she wouldn't last five minutes, goddamit, how wrong was I?
'I thought first cockroach and she'll be gone. Now she has 12 for breakfast every morning!'
However, the five-time world darts legend wasn't so complimentary about Helen Flanagan and Rosemary Shrager, although he vehemently denies bullying them.
He explained: 'I'm not, and have never been, a bully. I held back several times with Helen because I don't want to upset a woman.
'I did have little digs at Helen, but only because she drives you mad. She's a looney tune.
'She's been a star since she was nine and mollycoddled so she can't do anything for herself.
'Not even being able to do her hair - that's bad. Elizabeth Taylor did her own hair and that's a proper star. Helen spends £350 a month on her hair and for ordinary people that's outrageous,' he ranted.
Turning his attention to the TV chef, he added: 'I didn't like the way Rosemary comes in very loud and was immediately the boss and we were nobodies, learners.
'She's a strange, strange woman and she irritated me more than anyone else. You can't talk down to people like that.'
Ashley and Charlie will go head to head on the I'm A Celebrity final tonight on ITV1 at 9.30pm.
