Cheryl Cole has reportedly signed up to perform on Strictly Come Dancing, in the programme's latest bid to win the weekend ratings battle with The X Factor.
The Promise This singer and former X Factor judge is set to appear on the show in November - midway through both the Strictly and X Factor's run of live shows - performing her latest single Screw You.
And BBC bosses are reported to be thrilled at having secured the singer's services.
'We are delighted Cheryl has said yes. We hope she will draw even more viewers mid-run,' a BBC insider told The Sun.
Cheryl is also due to make a sensational return to The X Factor this weekend, when she joins Gary Barlow as his sidekick at the judges' houses stage of the show.
She joined the Take That singer to help choose his finalists in the Over-28s category at a stately home in Northamptonshire, after the pair secretly hatched the plans while working together on the summer's Diamond Jubilee Concert.
However her Strictly appearance could potentially reunite her on the show with Girls Aloud band mate Kimberley Walsh - if she is still in the competition at the time of Cheryl's performance.
Kimberley recently revealed that it had been Cheryl who persuaded her to take part in the hit show.
'Her and Nicola (Roberts) were adamant that I should do it,' Kimberley said. 'I was teetering on the edge and they both pushed me into Strictly.'
'They're really excited about it - they're really happy that I'm doing it. For them it's going to be great because they can just chill out and watch.'
Kimberley will take to the floor with partner Pasha Kovalev for the first time in the double bill of shows which will kick off the series next weekend.
