Chris Brown's decision not to attend the MTV Video Music Awards is not connected to his brawl with Drake in a New York nightclub.
The pair's entourages clashed at W.i.P in the Big Apple in July, apparently after an argument about Brown's treatment of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
It was rumoured the Turn Up The Music star had pulled out of the VMAs to avoid another confrontation with Drake, after they were both nominated in the Best Male Video category.
However, Brown has put the spat behind him and does not hold a grudge.
A source told Hollywood Life: 'That situation already been handled and Chris [has] no beef with [Drake.]
'We don't think about him. Drake who? That club s*** was what it was and Chris left that baggage back where it happened.'
The insider added: 'None of what's going on with the VMAs is because of Drake. You can believe that.'
This year's VMAs will take place in Los Angeles on September 6th, with Rihanna, Frank Ocean, One Direction and Green Day among the acts set to perform.
