Robbie Williams was dubbed 'the other man' in the marriage of his best friend, entertainer Jonathan Wilkes.
Wilkes's wife, Nikki, realised the third wheel would be in her life forever when he was even included in the couple's wedding vows.
'There were always three of us in our relationship, we went every-where together,' Nikki said.
Jonathan, a 34-year-old songwriter, revealed: 'Even at our wedding, our vicar said, "Nikki, do you take Johnny and Robbie to be your lawful wedded husbands?"'
He added: 'We went on tour together in 2006 which was just mad, surreal and crazy. We had a ball and I got to see the world. I took Nikki and my son Mickey. He'd been to nine countries by the time he was just 16 weeks old. It was amazing.'
For now, an ocean has been put between the lads' 'special relationship' as Williams lives in LA with his wife Ayda Field who is expecting a baby.
But Jonathan says he and the 38-year-old star still make sure they call each other every day.
Explaining that he is the singer's rock, he continued: 'I'm very lucky, there aren't many people that I have special relationships with like that and we've been through thick and thin together.
'It's rare to have that but I take it for granted at times and Rob would say the same because people don't have friends from the age four or five but we're still strong and so close – he's my best mate.'
