X Factor judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Louis Walsh and Anastacia were bowled over by Melanie Masson's 'insane' audition on tonight's show.
The mum-of-two stuns the panel on tonight's show after admitting that the ITV1 talent contest is her final shot at stardom.
The 44-year-old, who teaches music to under 5s, reveals that singing is the only thing she's 'ever wanted to do' before launching into a rendition of Janis Joplin's Cry Baby.
Her performance is believed to be one of the reasons that Gary has backed his over 28s category as the 'one to watch' this series.
Speaking after her incredible audition, the Take That star said: 'Melanie that was insane. Oh my god, that voice! You were guiding us through the song. It was amazing, it really was.'
Louis Walsh added: 'Melanie, where did that voice come from and where has it been? You're 44, this is what this show is all about - finding somebody as amazing as you and giving them a chance.'
Guest judge Anastacia was equally impressed, and added: 'I completely can't believe that you killed it like that. It is never too late to have a record deal girl!'
'You came on stage and you seemed really gentle and then all of a sudden this fire and this soul and this diva came out of you. You owned that stage, you absolutely rocked it - that is how you do an audition. Amazing,' Tulisa concluded.
Afterwards on The Xtra Factor, Melanie takes Olly Murs to her music class which sees the Heart Skips A Beat singer dress up as Flutterby and don a set of pink wings.
The X Factor airs tonight on ITV1 at 8:10pm. The Xtra Factor follows afterwards at 9:25pm on ITV2.
