Cheryl Cole has recalled the terrifying moment she suffered a near death experience when her private jet was almost struck by lightening.
The Geordie singer was about to jet out of Frankfurt airport in Germany recently when a ferocious storm meant her plane had to remain grounded.
As she recalled the scary moment, she admitted she thought 'this is it' as she sat on her private jet watching lightening strike the runway just a few metres away from her.
But she admitted one of the first thoughts that crossed her mind was that she wouldn't be able to promote her new album A Million Lights - not that she may not survive.
Speaking to The Sun, Cheryl said: 'We were stuck in the plane and just sitting on the runway and a bright massive flash of light hit outside the aircraft. I said to my friend, "That's lightning" – then it just didn't stop.
"I was so scared that I thought, "This is it. I've got an album to promote and I've got so much yet to do!"'
Cheryl's fears didn't disappear when the storm finally passed though as she was petrified they would be struck mid-air.
She added: 'We had to stay put in the aircraft on the runway. They couldn't even take us back to the terminal.
'When we finally took off about an hour later I was terrified we'd be hit by lightning in the air.'
But, rather bizarrely, Chez explained that she was comforted by a recent expedition.
'But I remembered I'd climbed Kilimanjaro, so took a bit of strength from that,' she added.
