Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown were the only Spice Girls left standing after their reunion to launch musical Viva Forever as both Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm made a swift exit.
The fivesome were reunited yesterday to launch the new West End musical, a story based on their hit songs.
It was the first time they'd stood side-by-side for years and came 16 years after they landed on the pop scene.
Ditching the tracksuits, platform heels and hoop earrings that used to define them, the girls oozed sophistication and glamour as they stood posing for photos inside the St Pancras Hotel in London.
But while they were all smiles for the cameras, it seemed their reunion was rather short-lived as only three stuck around to celebrate after the launch was over.
Victoria, who wore the smallest smile on the day, was the first to leave, choosing family over her friends.
She had told press during the launch: 'There's nowhere else I'd rather be today than here with the girls, and obviously my children.'
But after the girls, who insist they now get on like a family, completed their ten-minute stint on stage answering press questions, they were soon to be separated again.
While Baby, Scary, Sporty and Ginger decided to hang around for a spot of lunch and a chin-wag, Posh made her swift exit.
She had jetted into London the previous day, tweeting about her excitement at being with the girls again.
And her excitement really showed when, after her brief stint promoting the musical, she made her way to Heathrow airport to catch a flight back to Los Angeles to be with her 11-month old girl Harper.
She told the Daily Mirror: 'I'd love to stay and hang out with the girls but I'm desperate to see her before she goes to bed.
'I have to race home for bedtime.'
However, making sure she showed her enthusiasm towards the production, she quickly added: 'London is a great starting point. We're all so proud to be British.
'We're hopeful this will be the start of something big.'
Victoria even paid tribute to her fellow girl band members on her way back home, tweeting each of them and thanking them for the day.
She wrote: 'On my way home!! Thank you @MelanieCmusic @OfficialMelB @EmmaBunton @GeriHalliwell for an amazing day!! X vb.'
Posh was seen arriving at LAX later in the day, certainly not looking like she'd just been on a 10-hour flight.
Wearing tight leather trousers and a plain black slouched top, she strutted through the airport in huge heels and oversized sunglasses, trying to dodge the flashbulbs as she went.
But Posh wasn't the only deserter.
After the other four had finished their lunch, Mel C too made her getaway.
She took a leaf out of Posh's book, though, and took to Twitter to soften the blow of her early exit.
'So proud to be a Spice Girl @EmmaBunton @GeriHalliwell @OfficialMelB @victoriabeckham love you all dearly. Thank you for everything! x x x,' she wrote.
The remaining trio seemed more than happy to party on without their two missing members, even if they were soon whittled down to two remaining Spices.
Geri and Emma stuck with girl power and continued their night at the Groucho Club while Mel B, joined by her husband Stephen Belafonte, headed to upmarket restaurant Nobu in Berkley Square.
