Joey Essex was left traumatised after he was attacked by muggers who posed as fans before running off with his £10,000 Rolex watch.
The incident happened yesterday when the The Only Way Is Essex star was out in Hammersmith, west London.
Two men approached him in his car and, pretending they were huge fans, asked him for a photograph.
Obliging, Joey posed for a snap with the men but, before he knew it, he was on the floor and they had made off with his gold watch.
Speaking to The Sun, Joey explained what happened: 'I got a knock on my car window asking if I was Joey Essex and if I would have my picture taken.
'We did the picture and when I put some money in the parking ticket machine, the geezers got hold of me and threw me over.
'It wasn't until I got up that I realised they had nicked my watch and when I hit on of them back, he got out a knife.'
A police spokesman said: 'Officers from the Robbery Squad at Hammersmith and Fulham are investigating the incident.'
Today Joey appeared on Daybreak and spoke of the attack, telling hosts Kate Garraway and Dan Lobb he believes is 'all to do with jealousy'.
Joey also raised the concern that he believes he may have been followed for a while as he was in his car which has featured in the reality TV show.
After his morning appearance, he took to his Twitter account to thank fans for their messages of support following the news of his vicious attack.
He wrote: 'Thanks for all your support. I know your all there for me and I'm there for you all! Love you x.'
Joey's attack comes just after fellow TOWIE star Lydia Bright's shop Bella Sorrella was vandalised. And in February, Lauren Goodger's salon Lauren's Way was petrol bombed.
Further attacks on the ITV2 reality stars came last year too when Joey's girlfriend Sam Faiers and her sister Billie were both violently attacked by a girl gang.
