Katy Perry insisted on leaving scenes that detailed her split from Russell Brand in her new documentary movie.
The Firework star broke up with her husband while she was filming Katy Perry: Part of Me and it was reported that Russell wanted the film to gloss over their relationship.
Katy decided not to edit out the parts that deal with the turmoil in her personal life, as she believes her fans can learn from her experiences.
However, that does not mean the movie will finally reveal why the comedian filed for divorce after just 14 months of marriage.
'I didn't get too detailed about the specifics because I believe that that's only supposed to be between the two people that are in it,' Katy told Access Hollywood.
'I just wanted to encourage people to let them know that it's ok if they have problems. It's ok if they're going through a situation, they don't have to lay down and die.'
The singer claimed the film was fair to her former husband and that she would not try to get back at Russell in public.
'I'm very aware of karma and the universe has its way with people and their actions. I'm going to leave it up to God,' she added.
Katy Perry: Part of Me, which also features footage from performances on her California Dreams tour, is out on July 5th.
