The LA police officers who leaked a photo to a showbiz gossip website of pop star Rihanna bruised and beaten by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown will not face any criminal charges.
Those looking to prosecute the officers are now unable to do so as there is not enough evidence to suggest the website paid the police for the photo.
However, officers Blanca Lopez and Rebecca Reyes still face the sack from the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly leaking the photos to TMZ.com and are set to appear at disciplinary hearings in August.
Singer Brown was arrested for allegedly assaulting Rihanna back in 2009.
The former couple got into a fight in a car on their way to the Grammys with pictures later emerging of Rihanna's swollen face.
Brown was found guilty of assault and was sentenced to five years of probation, one year of domestic violence counseling, and six months of community service.
He was also slapped with a restraining order, which was lifted last year.
Since then, rumours have been rife of a reconciliation between the pair as they have been spotted partying at the same venues, and even duetted on a single Birthday Cake and a remix of Chris Brown's hit Turn Up The Music.
