The mum of Cheryl Cole's new man Tre Holloway is worried the former X Factor judge may be too much for the dancer because of her failed marriage to Ashley Cole.
Shirley Holloway said her 26-year-old son, who has been dancing with Cheryl for several years, was comparatively inexperienced in the relationship department.
The 56-year-old from New Jersey told The Sun: 'She might hurt him. She's been married before.
'He has dated in the past in college and high school but it was nothing serious.'
Spilling the beans on Tre's new found romance, she added: 'He mentioned that one day last month they went somewhere.
'He never said she was his girlfriend. But he said, "Oh, she likes me". I got the feeling he was maybe quite into her.'
And Shirley can't wait to meet the Under The Sun singer.
She continued: 'I don't know Cheryl. I've only seen pictures on the internet. Tre said she was pretty big (in the UK).
'I'm curious to meet her. If this is a serious relationship then I'm looking forward to meeting her because I trust Tre's judgment.
'If he likes her, then she must be a good person.'
And things are certainly hotting up between the two as Cheryl has already introduced Tre to her closest Girls Aloud bandmates.
The loved-up couple joined Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and their boyfriends at the Cecconi restaurant last night before heading over to Rose Club in west London where they partied until the early hours.
Sarah Harding is said to have already met the dancer in LA.
Meanwhile, Cheryl's mum Joan and brother Garry are thrilled that the lovelorn songstress is finally moving on in her life.
A source told The Sun: 'Joan and Garry are happy she's met someone she thinks is great. They're hoping to meet him this month.'
