Simon and his former girlfriend are currently enjoying a relaxing holiday, cruising the Med on Cowell's luxury yacht.
But the X Factor boss quickly turned rescuer after receiving a May Day distress call from a sinking boat, rushing to the scene in order to pick up the boat's passengers.
Sinitta revealed the holiday drama via her Twitter account, writing: 'OMG!! Just had a May Day message , 35ft boat sinking.. SC has sent us to help and rescue 9 people on board! Slipstream look alike boat.
'Everyone ok, noone hurt.captain won't let boat sink, petrol in sea etc would cause major problems and fines. No tide, so hole plugged.'
Simon's August break has already been rather eventful, with the music mogul running into Britain's Got Talent colleague David Walliams and music legend Sir Elton John while holidaying in St Tropez.
But the pair gave Cowell a rather interesting reception, mooning him as he sailed past.
