Olly Murs admits he was starstruck after being invited to join Madness on stage at V Festival.
The Essex boy joined the band for a performance of their classic hit It Must Be Love, fulfilling a life-long dream for the 28-year-old.
He said it 'was an absolute honour' to sing with one of his 'big musical' influences before joining the boys backstage for a knees-up.
But Olly's presence at the festival in Chelmsford, Essex, did not wash well with the likes of The Enemy.
Asked whether they thought festivals were more pop focused nowadays, the band told Entertainmentwise: 'Yeah 100%. It's a f**king joke. I mean maybe Olly Murs is a lovely man but I don't want to watch Olly Murs doing Jam covers and Supergrass covers at V Festival... I want to actually watch Supergrass.'
Singer Tom said: 'It's him doing a cover of another artist who had the song written by a songwriter. Completely naff.'
Musing over the reasons behind the change, he added: 'I think it's mainly because some radio stations have stopped playing guitar music which has had an effect on audiences. Festivals just want to make money and guitar bands aren't given the exposure.'
