Charlie Brooks was left devastated after narrowly missing out on a surprise camp visit from her young daughter Kiki during an I'm A Celebrity challenge.

In last night's episode, the six remaining celebrities – Rosemary Shrager, David Haye, Hugo Taylor, Ashley Roberts Eric Bristow and Charlie – were given the chance to win some special prizes in a task in camp.

In pairs, each group had to head to an area in the jungle where they were greeted by five coloured doors. Behind each door there was a prize and all they had to do was choose a door to open. If they liked the prize, they could keep it but if they wanted to gamble the prize for a potentially better one, they could. However, behind one door was a 'game over' sign.

As well as the 'game over' sign, the treats that were waiting behind the remaining four doors were a freshly cooked pizza, freshly laundered clothes, two ice cream sundaes and another had their loved ones waiting behind it.

Eric and Charlie were first to test out the game. After choosing the shabby chic door, which had the laundered clothes behind it, they decided to move on. 'I'm going for Chelsea blue' Eric said. And Charlie agreed as her daughter Kiki, who was waiting behind the door with Eric's son, likes the team. But unfortunately it had the 'game over' sign.

The next pair to head to the game area was Hugo and Ashley. The first door they opened was the red one which had the pizza behind it and they immediately decided to keep the tasty treat.

Rosemary and David went next and like Charlie and Eric, they went for the shabby chic door and passed on it when they saw it was fresh clothing.

The next door they chose was the yellow one which had Rosemary's daughter and David's mum behind it.

As Charlie and Eric waited back at camp for the other two pairs to arrive, they soon found out about Ashley and Hugo's pizza which left them rather disappointed.

But when a rather excited David and Rosemary returned, they soon asked their campmates if anyone else had picked the yellow door before revealing they had won five minutes with their loved ones.

A shocked Charlie jumped out of her hammock and immediately became tearful when she realised Kiki would have been behind the yellow door and just yards away from her.

Charlie later said in the Bush Telegraph: 'I swear to God, It felt like somebody had got a boot and kicked me in the gut. I didn't even think about having your family behind the door would have been an option.

'This is heartbreaking. Yellow's my favourite colour she would have been thinking "mummy would pick yellow".

'I'm really glad I didn't get the pizza. I'm really glad that I didn't get anything because if I'd sat there and enjoyed something knowing afterwards that she was there whilst I was going "this is the best prize" I think I would have felt even worse.'

It was definitely playing on the EastEnders actress' mind though as she later added: 'Oh my God, I can't cope. Kiki I'm so sorry.'
