Nicole Scherzinger has all but sealed her X Factor return after a glowing report from Simon Cowell.
The former Pussycat Doll claimed Cowell told her she's 'killing it' on the series – especially after becoming the first judge in the show's history to have all her acts make it to the quarter-finals.
'He calls and texts all the time,' the 34-year-old told Heat.
'He's texted me saying, "You're killing it," and "I'm hearing great things about you".' Cowell, 53, is said to be 'desperate' to sign her for 2013.
The X Factor mogul was unaware he was at the centre of a prank until cops turned up at his LA mansion following a 911 call from a woman saying he was being held hostage.
The 53-year-old told police he was fine and sent them on his way.
The incident will do nothing to calm Cowell's nerves after he hit out at Depeche Mode star Martin Gore, 51, for saying he should be shot for what he's done to the music industry.
Angry Si fumed on Twitter, 'A ton of people have got shot this year and people like weirdo Gore encourage this.'
Cowell has beefed up his home security this year after a stalker broke into his west London pad.
