Little Mix's Jesy Nelson got into big trouble in Australia over her favourite 'fake' spiked Alexander McQueen bag.

The singer almost did not make it through security Down Under when her choice of bag became a thorny issue.

'I nearly got arrested,' the 21-year-old said. 'I had this clutch bag with spikes. You put your fingers through it and it looks like a knuckle-duster with spikes on it.'

Putting on her finest Aussie accent, she added: 'And as I went through they were like "Um, excuse me" and then started questioning me and they were like "You can't go through" and I was like "Why not?" They were like "Well, this could be a weapon, it looks like a knuckleduster" and I was like "It's my bloody handbag".'

Her back-chat didn't work and she was then subjected to the full pat-down.
All this could have been avoided, she claimed, if security staff in Australia knew what was on trend these days.

'They need to get with the fashion, spikes are in fashion,' she insisted. 'But then this is him: "If it was the real Alex McQueen bag you could have gone through with it". I was like "Excuse me"?'

Jesy also discovered she could not count on her bandmates in a sticky situation.

'They left me to go have a bloody croissant while I was being patted down,' she said.

'I nearly missed the flight.'

Bandmate Jade Thirlwall admitted: 'We just left her.'
