Former Big Brother contestant Kenneth Tong has caused fury on Twitter after posting a string of sick messages about Gary Barlow's stillborn daughter Poppy.
The 28-year-old, who appeared on the tenth series of the show in 2009, began posting the offensive tweets shortly after Barlow revealed the tragic news about his fourth child - who was delivered stillborn last weekend eight and a half months into his wife Dawn's pregnancy.
And despite being flooded with comments from disgusted fellow tweeters Tong continued to post the messages over the next few days - at one point even tweeting a photo of a child's coffin.
He is now facing calls from outraged Twitter users to be banned from the microblogging site, with his name trending worldwide and his followers increasing to 180,000 as a result.
'This makes me feel sick to the core, why would you make a joke out of something so tragic' commented one tweeter, while another called him 'the vilest most horrible man I have ever seen. What he wrote about Gary Barlow's baby is just the lowest.'
Celebrities have also joined the calls for Tong - a self-made millionaire and playboy - to be removed from the site.
Rapper Professor Green called his tweets, 'a disgusting case of attention-seeking' while Big Brother's Bit On The Side presenter Jamie East said: 'Nothing would make me happier today than seeing Kenneth Tong going to prison. What an absolutely hateful, hateful human being.'
Tong also found himself blocked by model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, whom he had been following and, on his profile information, asking 'for a date'.
It is not the first time he has caused controversy on Twitter, following accusations he had launched a pro-anorexia campaign last year by encouraging his female followers to try a slimming pill.
He later claimed the comments - which were blasted by stars including Simon Cowell and Rihanna - had been intended as a joke.
Tong originally entered the Big Brother house midway through the 2009 series on the same night that his girlfriend, glamour model Karly Ashworth, was evicted.
He lasted just six days in the house - before eventually escaping over the roof - but during that time caused controversy after an argument with fellow housemate Bea Hamill during which he suggested he would 'pay someone to deal with her'.
