Tom Daley might be teaching Cheryl Cole how to dive but she'll have to teach him some dance moves as he has apparently landed a spot on Girls Aloud's tour.

The Olympic bronze medallist offered to teach Cheryl some diving skills earlier this month after she begged him for the favour on Twitter.

After watching the Team GB star in action during the Games, she tweeted: '@tomdaley1994 I think you are amazing! Will you teach me how to swan dive?'

He cheekily said she'd have to follow him on Twitter first and after she did, they've been exchanging messages ever since.

And it seems their Twitter banter has now resulted in Tom landing a spot on the highly anticipated Girls Aloud reunion tour next year.

'The girls think it would be great to have him on stage with them,' a source told The Sun. 'They all think he's really cute and love him in his little Speedos.'

The source continued: 'They know he'll get a great reception from their fans and are confident he'll be up for it — even in his Speedos.'

Given that he performed in front of the entire world earlier this month for the London 2012 Olympics, it shouldn't be too much of a tall order for Tom to impress the band's hordes of fans.

The girls – Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding - were put together on Pop Stars: The Rivals in November, 2002.

Plans for their ten-year anniversary began in April this year and it's set to be one of the biggest music events next year.

As well as bringing out new music, they'll be wowing fans at around 30 arena dates and bringing out new material.
