One Direction made the most of their well-earned break at the weekend as they soaked up the sun while cuddling up to their girlfriends at V Festival.

Love was clearly in the air as the attached boys came over all soppy as they enjoyed some rare quality time with the ladies in their lives.
While Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne doted on their girlfriends while enjoying the live music at the Essex festival yesterday, Zayn even ditched the guys to support his Little Mix girlfriend Perrie Edwards as her band performed at GAY in London.

Louis arrived at the festival with girlfriend Eleanor Calder, who he met as a backing dancer on The X Factor, and the pair inseparable as they hung out in the Virgin Media Louder Lounge VIP area while soaking up the sun.
Barely able to wipe the smiles from their faces, it was no doubt nice to finally be able to spend some real quality time together.

They appeared to snub hanging out with their friends in favour of relaxing in the VIP area together, which is no surprise given that the boys' hectic work schedule, involving touring and working on new music, means they don't get to spend too much time together.
They were forced to flee the swanky outside area, which included a pop-up bar, massage area and free drinks all day, when Louis was mobbed by a group of female fans.

Liam's attention was also completely focussed on his girlfriend * as well.
Chilling out in the baking August sun, the pair were spotted canoodling and kissing in the public area, not appearing to mind the prying eyes surrounding them.

Liam didn't even mind being mobbed, unlike his bandmates who all fled while he stayed to humour their groupies.
'Yeah, we were mobbed a bit by the girls. The rest have gone off,' he told The Sun at the time.

Zayn might not have had the opportunity to lock lips with his lady in public, but he too showed just how loved-up he is with Perrie as he fled the festival in Chelmsford to support her and bandmates Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock from the sidelines.
The devoted boyfriend, who met Perrie during last year's X Factor, watched the girlband perform a set to mark the release of their second single Wings.

Niall and Harry left their loved-up bandmates to it though and went off with their friends to party.
One Twitter user caught a sly snap of Harry chilling with a group of friends on blankets while mingling with other festival-goers in the main area.

It was clear he wasn't looking for any attention as he tried to disguise himself by wearing a beanie hat despite the sweltering heat.
Niall was also seen having a good time at V as he partied with Xtra Factor host – and Harry's former lover – Caroline Flack, Tulisa and her PA Gareth Varey.

Tulisa was performing at the event in Essex on the Sunday and appeared in high spirits as she chilled out with her showbiz pals.
Flack was there to support her co-host Olly Murs.
