Pop singer Mika has struck ladies off the bedtime menu after changing his sexuality status from bisexual to gay.
The flamboyant singer decided to come out the closet this week when he revealed his lyrics are about his love affairs with men and not women.
In a confession that won't surprise many of his fan base, the Beirut-born Brit told Instinct Magazine: 'If you ask me 'am I gay?', I say yeah. Are these songs about my relationship with a man? I say yeah. And it's only through my music that I've found the strength to come to terms with my sexuality beyond the context of just my lyrics. This is my real life.'
His brave step follows years of speculation about which way he swings, at one point leaving him the target of death threats.
He revealed the heavy pressure he faced when he said of one menace: 'It was over whether I am gay or not. He wasn't happy that I won't talk about my personal life like that.'
Finally capitulating, the 28-year-old appeared to admit that he was bi three years ago.
The We Are Golden singer told Dutch magazine Gay & Night: 'I've never ever labelled myself. But having said that, I've never limited my life. I've never limited who I sleep with. … Call me whatever you want. Call me bisexual, if you need a term for me.'
The star has taken a three year break from the charts since his last album The Boy Who Knew Too Much.
He is back with a new offering The Origin of Love.
