X Factor finalist Christopher Maloney has reportedly been warned by producers about his punctuality after showing up late for rehearsals this weekend.
According to The Sun, even his mentor Gary Barlow was left fuming after the Liverpudlian singer - who once again made it through on Sunday night's results show - was an hour late for the group rehearsal of U2's Beautiful Day.
And his tardiness led to another warning from show producers, who are said to have already reprimanded him three times over his punctuality.
The 34-year-old has gained a reputation for being unpopular backstage, with recent suggestions that he is the most demanding of the finalists.
'Chris is one of the most disliked contestants backstage because of the way he treats the production crew and other performers,' a source told the paper. 'Nobody has a good word to say for him.'
Maloney once again managed to avoid a brush with the bottom two on Sunday night's show as District 3 were sent home, losing out to fellow boy band Union J in the sing-off.
And the news that he had once again managed to avoid the bottom two has been a popular topic on Twitter, with many taking to the microblogging site to express their disbelief.
'#xfactor was an absolute joke. I know it has been for years, but last night was ridic. Christopher Maloney, go home already!' tweeted one, while another added, 'If you voted for Christopher Maloney give yourself a slap.'
However the singer does have some support, with another Twitter user saying: 'He's an amazing singer and at least he's real. Liverpool's completely backing him.'
Barlow, meanwhile, admitted that Maloney - who is the last remaining over-28 in the competition - was at a disadvantage due to being so much older than the other remaining acts.
'He is progressing but he is a bit older than everybody else,' he told the Xtra Factor.
'He is the oldest one in the competition now and I know as an older person it takes a little bit longer to learn things than the younger guys but he's doing well. He is working hard.'
Maloney, meanwhile, said on the show that he was 'lost for words' to have reached the top six in the competition - and had found it tough having to wait until a commercial break in the show to learn whether he had made it through another week.
'That was just so frightening down there when we had to wait after the ad break, it was such a shock,' he said. 'I had a feeling all day and I said to Gary that I thought I was going to have to sing tonight.
And he said of the public's response, 'I'm just doing what I'm doing, I'm doing my best and that's all I can do.
'I can't thank the public enough, the army, the things that getting me through the competition is just the support I have. I just try and help everyone out that I can, I love my family and I work hard.'
