Kristen Stewart has sensationally issued a public apology to boyfriend Robert Pattinson, admitting she has cheated on him.
Rumours surfaced today claiming the Twilight actress had cheated on Pattinson with her Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
Until now, both parties had remained tight-lipped.
In a shocking move from the famously reserved actress, Kristen has now issued a grovelling apology to R-Pattz for the 'hurt and embarrassment' she has caused, as well as declaring her love for him.
'I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this had affected,' the statement read.
It continued: 'This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry.'
Kristen and Robert met whilst filming the first instalment of the Twilight saga and were romantically linked from the start.
Their relationship was confirmed in 2010 but they still do their best to avoid any public displays of affection.
However, in May this year the couple were seen embracing in a very public smooch on a balcony in Cannes, seeming to cement how close they were.
The original story was published by US Magazine and alleged that Stewart - who is 19 years younger than Sanders - had cheated on Pattinson with the director a week ago, with a witness alleging the pair 'couldn't get enough' of each other.
Sanders, 41, is married to model Liberty Ross. The couple have two children aged seven and five.
