Russell Brand has confirmed he is in a relationship with Isabella Brewster while seeming to renege on a previous 'a**e-ache' comment he made about Katy Perry.
The comedian seemed to have put his relationship with the Teenage Dream singer fondly but firmly behind him as he revealed in a radio interview that he had enjoyed his time with Perry.
Brand told the Howard Stern show: 'Before we got married, I thought, "I've got to marry her, I love her so much". And then we got married and I thought "OK, this isn't really working out".
'It was a lovely relationship. It mostly didn't work for practical reasons and we went our separate ways.'
The compliments didn't stop there either, as Brand also said on the programme that he is a fan of Perry's latest single Wide Awake - which is apparently based on her split with Russell.
As host Stern read the lyrics from the track to him, Brand replied: 'She's a good person, I've got nothing but love for her.
'I was very proud of everything she did... She's a young woman dealing with the break up of a relationship... which is understandable. It's a nice song.'
True to his ways though, Russell then went on to confirm he has moved on and is dating American beauty Isabella Brewster.
When Stern quizzed him on whether or not he and Brewster are seeing each other, the British funnyman responded: 'Some things in the newspaper are untrue … That's true actually.'
Brand had previously slammed Perry while taping his new show Brand X, calling the singer an 'a**e-ache'.
According to The Sun, an audience member revealed: 'They were having some chat about whether Katy could satisfy her boyfriend in bed when, all of a sudden, Russell shouted the comment about a**e-ache.
'It was a blatant reference to Katy Perry. The look on his face as he laughed after saying the comment said it all.'
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Perry's new boyfriend - Florence and The Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd - is reportedly preparing to move to America later this year to make a go of things with the singer – who was married to Brand for 14 months.
