The Ghost actress got more than she bargained for when she called her estranged husband Ashton Kutcher, 34, only to have his new love Mila Kunis, 29, answer the phone.
Demi, 49, made the call to invite Kutcher to a Kabbalah dinner but instead she received an olive branch from the Black Swan actress.
'After an awkward few moments, Mila told Demi she was sorry about how public her relationship with Ashton had become.

'She said she respected Demi and never wanted any hard feelings,' a source revealed.
Mila has been good friends with Ashton since they played an on-screen couple in That 70s Show but she insisted to Demi 'nothing was going on' whilst the pair were married, but things 'have got serious' between them in recent weeks.
'She's practically moved in with him,' continued the source.
A much healthier looking Demi – who has regained some of her lost break-up weight since her stint in rehab – didn't fancy comparing notes with the Ted star.
'She thanked Mila but said nothing more, simply asking to speak to Ashton,
'I think Demi was stunned Mila would be so bold.'
Demi is rumoured to have found herself a new toyboy after she was spotted on several dates with New Zealand actor Martin Henderson, 37.
