Rapper Dappy has sparked outrage from fans after branding someone a 'Down Syndrome' on his Twitter account.
The 25-year-old N-Dubz star made the shocking comment after taking offence to a tweet from one of his followers.
He wrote: 'Ur a d****** in your HOOD you've never BEEN KNOWN.'
'I'll get your Face F***** DOWN SYNDROME,' he retorted.
Dappy later deleted the remark, however in the hours it was left up on his account it was seen by thousands of followers.
Sarah Smith, of the Down's Heart Group charity, slammed the comment in an interview with The Sun.
She labelled the tweet 'inappropriate and offensive' and said 'people with Down's Syndrome have such a lot to offer'.
'There will be a lot of Dappy's fans who have Down's Syndrome who will not be happy he used that term as a form of abuse.'
Dappy, whose real name is Dino Costas Contostavlos, is no stranger to controversy and appeared at Guilford Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with affray.
The cousin of X Factor star and bandmate Tulisa Contostavlos denies, along with three others, being involved in a petrol station bust-up and has been bailed until next month.
