Caroline Flack has spilled the beans on what really goes on backstage on The X Factor, insisting Gary Barlow is a lot funnier than people give him credit for.
Head judge Gary has admitted in the past that he gets a lot of stick for being boring, and on Sunday night viewers caught a glimpse of his stroppy side too.
The over 28s mentor stormed off set, before apparently locking himself away in his dressing room, after his act Carolynne Poole was sent packing.
But Xtra Factor presenter Caroline, 32, says the Take That star is actually good fun.
Sticking up for the hot-headed mentor, she said: 'Gary is a lot funnier than people think. He's got a dry sense of humour.'
And as for veteran judge Louis Walsh, Caroline reckons he's up on all the backstage tittle tattle.
'If you want gossip, go and ask Louis. He knows everything. I always try and get stuff out of him,' she said.
She goes on to describe Nicole Scherzinger - who's been working on her Essex accent with Rylan Clark - as a good sport who can laugh at herself, and says Tulisa is The X Factor's 'mother hen'.
'She's very soft, much more than you'd think. She's a real girls' girl,' she added.
Meanwhile, the bubbly TV presenter claims there is nothing more than a bit of cheeky banter between herself and her Xtra Factor co-host Olly Murs.
'He's like my stepbrother,' she told Heat magazine.
'I say "step" because it means we can still have a little flirt on-screen. Because if you flirted with your brother it would be weird. I don't think we fancy each other, we just flirt…'
The full interview appears in this week's heat, on sale now.
