Justin Timberlake has apologised days after a video featuring homeless people was shown at his wedding to Jessica Biel.

It was revealed this week that the couple's nuptials featured a film in which homeless people and transvestites in Los Angeles were seen passing on their congratulations.

Entitled Greetings from your Hollywood friends who just couldn't make it, it shows people who do not know the pair uttering their supposedly heartfelt messages.

One toothless man, who is said by the Daily Mirror to have been paid £25, said the words: 'Justin, Jessica ... I haven't seen you in a long time. My gift is in the mail.'

Timberlake has now described the stunt as 'silly [and] unsavoury', adding it had been meant as a joke on him.

The newlyweds were slammed by many people who suggested they had made a 'distasteful' video that made fun of minority groups.

While admitting to the unsavoury nature of the clip, he added that his friends who made it had done so with good intentions.

Some observers had suggested mocking the homeless was wholly inappropriate, particularly at a £4 million gala wedding at a luxury resort, featuring fireworks and a dinner with about 80 guests in attendance.
