The X Factor Wardrobe Wars: Nicole goes from frightful to fabulous

Tulisa Contostavlos and Nicole Scherzinger are battling it out to win The X Factor crown but they're also up against each other in the style stakes. Each week, we take a look at who wore what best and why.

The X Factor had a Halloween theme on Saturday night, and Nicole took the dressing up one step further as she appeared in a lacy body-stocking that clung to her curves.

She surprised everyone with her dramatic frizzy hairstyle, with the judge also sported a glittery head decoration, dark eyeshadow and red lips.

Finishing the look with vertiginous black heels, it was a rather attention-seeking yet fitting look for that night's live show.

The show's host Dermot was so blown away by her choice of outfit that he asked the Poison singer to show off her outfit again for the audience before sitting down behind the judges' table.

Tulisa opted for a more demure and sophisticated outfit on the night, and wore a floor length black dress with a low neckline and a frilled skirt.

She gave the look a retro twist by wearing her hair in sleek waves and adding some sparkle with a pair of long earrings.

The results show on Sunday was a different story as Ms Scherzinger decided to tone down the scary, breezing out on stage in an asymmetrical black dress with gold embellishments.

Contostavlos wore an even more conservative frock with an A-line skirt and high neckline, and wore her hair in yet another retro style.

It was a close call this week with Nicole looking hugely more classy on Sunday than she did on Saturday. Yet Tulisa appears to have played it too safe when it comes to her wardrobe.

However her feminine choice of dresses over the weekend means she wins this week's Wardrobe Wars. Here's hoping she wears something other than black next week!

Who do you think should win this week's Wardrobe Wars?
