The X Factor said goodbye to Jade Ellis during the results show after she lost in the sing-off to Union J, while Rylan Clark was saved by the public vote.
Jade, who was being mentored by N-Dubz star Tulisa, lost in the sing-off to Louis' act Union J.
Ellis belted out Dido's romantic hit White Flag while the Union J lads sang Pink's Less Than Perfect.
The judges were than asked to vote and Louis and Tulisa chose to save their own acts.
Nicole Scherzinger opted to send home Jade while Gary Barlow agreed with her and decided that the young mum should leave. He added that he could see more of a future for Union J.
Meanwhile, Rylan Clark was saved by the public vote for another week, which he celebrated by jumping into the arms of mentor Nicole and hugging her.
Barlow's wildcard act Chris Maloney, who sparked a war of words between Gary and Tulisa on Saturday night, also went through to next week's live shows, and both Maloney and Barlow looked elated with the result.
All of Nicole's acts are through to next weekend also, with Jahmene and James getting support from the public.
Viewers took to Twitter to slam the programme as they felt Jade was the superior singer.
Bex Burnett fumed: 'It gets worse each week, its a fix. Why the pathetic wet boy bands when there's raw talent james better not go now!!! #xfactor', while Lauren Samuels said: '#xfactor I like Union J but Jade should have stayed ... She sung better :(. Bad decision judges .'
Rae Carpenter on the other hand was more hopeful for Ellis, tweeting: 'Jade will get a record deal and much better songs than an #xfactor deal will produce.'
Tulisa's act Lucy Spraggan, who was too ill to perform this weekend, is automatically through to next week's show.
