The royal was officially opening the new café and terrace in the heart of London when he came across the chocolate treat.
He was being accompanied by the 38th Dean of Westminster Abbey the Very Reverend Dr John Hall on his tour around the shop but only seemed to have eyes for one thing.
Prince Phillip also met the café's staff, donors, architects and several other people who were responsible for constructing the cafe.
We're not sure how the Duke was able to concentrate with the delicious chocolate desert on his mind.
What made him so enchanted with this treat? Did it have an alluring aroma that made it irresistible?
Has the prince not been allowed to eat cake for so long he is now yearning for a bite?
