EXCLUSIVE: Louis Walsh has slammed rival TV show Strictly Come Dancing, saying the BBC's offering simply warms up Saturday night audiences as they wait for Simon Cowell's ITV juggernaut.

As autumn sets in and weekend TV heats up, Louis has been quick to reignite the never-ending feud between the two ratings grabbers.

Speaking about the popular ballroom dancing show, the former Westlife manager jibed: 'I've heard about this show. I know about it because [Westlife star] Nicky Byrne is on it, that's all.

'It warms up the audience for The X Factor.'

Refusing to give up an opportunity to take a dig at Strictly's 84-year-old frontman Bruce Forsyth, Louis added: 'It's a good support act with a very old singer at the front. [Bruce] He's not exactly young, he's no spring chick, but he's a professional.

'At 84 I will definitely not be on TV. I won't be doing X Factor!'

But the Irish TV star didn't stop relinquish his insulting tirade there, turning on Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest star-searching show Superstar too.

'The X Factor is the most important show on TV, it's the biggest. Everybody else copies it, they really do. It's like that Andrew Lloyd Webber show, that's like a really bad copy of it. It was on during the summer nobody watched it,' Louis sniped.
