However, reports suggest that Mariah began the argument. A source told Mouthtoears.com that Nicki walked off set after Mariah made jabs at her, but Nicki's manager managed to convince her to return. 'Mariah kept at it and called Nicki a b**** and then proceeded to cuss her out. Producers had to stop filming and call it a night,' they said. A video of the row has appeared on TMZ, where Nicki can be heard ranting at Mariah, saying 'I told them I'm not f*****g putting up with her f*****g highness over there [referring to Mariah]'. Mariah can be heard replying, although it is not clear exactly what was said. Following the video, a source told the website that Nicki was heard saying to the Hero singer 'I'm gonna knock you out,' in the argument which is believed to have begun with a disagreement over a contestant's performance. Even before the pair joined the American Idol panel it was reported that Mariah was not keen on the Superbass singer's presence, as she feared it would become a 'freak show'.
