The original Sugababes - Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy - rolled back the years at the Q Awards and have vowed not to make the 'same mistakes' all over again.

Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan – who were teenagers when they formed the band – promised fans they were now 'grown women'.

They are back together as Mutya Keisha Siobhan after securing a £1million record deal.

Buchanan, 27, said: 'On the business side... making sure that we don't make the same mistakes as we did in the past and that's kind of been the hardest part.'

'For me personally, from the outside, I have never seen Mutya and Siobhan together since we were 15 or 16. To see them years on as grown women talking was just weird.'

Buena added: 'It's been a long time coming and time to move forward.' The trio, whose hits included Overload and New Year, now plan to try to take Girls Aloud's girl group crown – although they are fans of the group.

On Cheryl and co's new single, Something New, Buchanan said: 'I think it's very them.

'I think anyone who is a fan of Girls Aloud will be very happy with the single and I think they look hot in the video.'

As for their own return, she claimed fans could look forward to some new music soon. 'The music should be here, maybe this year,' said Buchanan.
'Album next year and we're just really excited about how it sounds.'

Donaghy, 28, added: 'It's very eclectic. It's really important for the three  of us that we have different influences and it's the blend of that that makes us interesting.'
