Simon Cowell has called on a number of members of Team GB to appear on tonight's live X Factor show, including Laura Trott and Jade Jones.
In total there will be 11 medallists appearing on what is being dubbed 'Heroes' Night' as the ITV show tries to compete with athletes such as Victoria Pendleton appearing on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
Although big names such as Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah will not be putting in an appearance, The X Factor will play host to Olympic medal winners in a number of sports.
Cyclists Laura Trott, Dani King, Lizzie Armitstead and Joanna Rowsell will be joined by boxers Nicola Adams and Luke Campbell as well as taekwondo ace Jade Jones.
Rowers Tom James, Pete Reed and Alex Gregory will also appear along with dressage champion Charlotte Dujardin.
A source told The Sun: 'Simon promised an Olympic night and he's delivered. The Heroes' show is all about celebrating the Olympics and the British summer of sport.
It's a feelgood show and we hope people will get a buzz from it.'
Contestants will sing a number of appropriate songs including 'Gold' by Spandau Ballet and 'Simply The Best' by Tina Turner.
One Direction are also due to put in an appearance, but will not perform.
