X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger has confessed she battled bulimia during her Pussycat Dolls days, admitting she 'hated herself'.
The stunning American has revealed her family had to give her the ultimatum 'get help or die' before she committed to overcoming the eating disorder she had suffered with for years.
'I guess it was like my addiction, right? I never did drugs,' she mused.
'It's like when I got offstage, I was on this high, and I'd come back to my room and I'd be alone, so I would just do things.
'My bulimia was my addiction. Hurting myself was my addiction.'
The 34-year-old singer goes on to say that despite her overwhelming popularity, she was afraid to confide in anyone.
'I just hated myself. I really was so disgusted with myself and so embarrassed. I felt so alone. I was in a group, and I never felt so alone in my life,' she explained.
Nevertheless, she suspects her bandmates were aware of her condition.
'You get, like, blisters on your hands or scars on your hands, and I'd try to hide those. I think the girls could tell,' she added.
Scherzinger - who is currently dating F1 driver Lewis Hamilton - goes on to confirm the truth behind the Pussycat Dolls set-up, admitting she sang '95 per cent' of the vocals herself.
'I was in the centre because I was singing,' she told VH1 Behind The Music.
'I'll never forget I finished the album PCD and [producer] Ron [Fair] and I brought the girls into the studio and we played it for them, and it was the first time they'd ever heard the music.'
She added: 'Do you understand what I'm saying?
'We played the album for the Pussycat Dolls. It was the first time they'd ever heard the songs.'
