The X Factor reject Jake Quickenden has backed Adam Burridge to take the wild card slot in the live finals following his own exit from the series.
The 24-year-old lifeguard from Scunthorpe was gutted to learn on Sunday night that he had not made it to the live stages of the show, losing out to James Arthur, Rylan Clark and Jahmene Douglas in the boys category.
However he swiftly took to Twitter to thank his followers for their support - and also to give his backing to Adam, who has been named as the boys' wild card candidate.
'Vote my best mate @Adam_Burridge he's sick and if am not in couldn't pick a better lad to be in!!' he tweeted, while adding that he was 'buzzing' about the reaction he had received to his exit from the show.
'Buzzing my t**s off how much support am receiving its amazing and I am so thankful so for like the 10 th time tonight I wanna say thanks! X'
Jake's dreams were shattered by Nicole Scherzinger on Sunday's show after she told him, 'I'm sorry Jake, I just don't think you are ready yet.'
Saturday's show saw him performing an emotional rendition of Take That's Back For Good for Nicole and rapper Ne Yo in Dubai, after he was seen receiving a phone call from home saying that the condition of his younger brother Oliver, who was suffering from bone cancer, had deteriorated.
The 19-year-old sadly died just a few days after Jake returned from Dubai, where he had admitted he wanted to make the live shows to give the teenager 'something to live for.'
