The X Factor bosses have resorted to hiring the male choir Only Boys Aloud to perform during the live final of the show after Girls Aloud opted to sing on Strictly Come Dancing.
Simon Cowell will give the 140-strong Welsh choir from his Britain's Got Talent show maximum publicity during next month's X Factor final.
Girls Aloud performing on The X Factor's rival could be a way of member Cheryl Cole blowing a raspberry at Cowell after her unceremoniously dumped the Call My Name singer from a spot on the judges panel on The X Factor US after a handful of episodes.
Girls Aloud - Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Sarah Harding - gave an energetic performance of their comeback single Something New on Strictly during the BBC One programme's Wembley Arena edition of the show.
Meanwhile, X Factor contestant Rylan Clark has been coming under fire from viewers from getting through to the next round week after week while youngster Ella Henderson - a favourite with the public - was sent home last week.
As a result of the harsh comments, he has since deleted his Twitter account.
An upset Rylan tweeted before leaving the social network: 'Don't think people understand some of the stuff that I get sent day in and day out. Some of you should be locked away for your comments regarding my sexuality, it's absolutely disgraceful.'
Clark, who is being mentored by Nicole Scherzinger, is William Hill's favourite to be voted off the show this weekend, followed by Gary Barlow's act Christopher Maloney.
