Girl power is alive and kicking after the Spice Girls snatched the lead from One Direction in Metro's Celebrity of the Year poll.

Posh and co made a late surge in the past week to top 'the one they all want to win' poll, after more than 10,000 readers cast their vote.
The Wannabe singers have amassed almost 1,000 more votes over Simon Cowell's globally successful boyband.
Still keeping her hopes alive in third place is The Voice judge Jessie J – who is faring much better than her colleague on the show, Will.i.am, who is sitting in ninth place.
His friend Cheryl Cole is looking much healthier in fifth spot.
He may have scored a chart double recently but the news isn't too rosy for Robbie Williams, who at the last count was bottom after mustering a measly seven votes.
