Move over Jessie J, Jessie Ware staked her place in the fame game after taking centre stage at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize show in a daring frock.
The South London soul diva told how she never thought she'd cut it as a musician but now wants a judging chair on The Voice or The X Factor after her debut album Devotion was hailed by the critics.
'I'm here at the Mercurys, that's pretty cool,' she told Metro. 'I got to release my debut album. I never thought I was going to be able to be a singer.'
The star says her rising profile has done wonders for her wardrobe after tripping on her black number with slits up the side on last night's red carpet.
Insisting she can dress with the best of her rivals, the bubbly 28-year-old said: 'I like to wear nice clothes and like to feel good. I have been shown more designers and I have more fun with my wardrobe now.'
And she confessed despite being a serious musician, she has fallen, hook, line and sinker for the manufactured pop on Cowell's show.
'I have been watching,' said the star. 'Ella... she's great.'
However, she concedes she's not quite famous enough yet to oust the other Jessie from The Voice.
'I wouldn't say no,' on judging. 'I don't think anyone knows me well enough but I love the shows.'
On the reaction to her rapid rise on the scene, she continued: 'People seem to like the music. I'm having an amazing year. It's definitely been one of the best.
'It's really amazing to be in a nice dress with loads of musicians and to be acknowledged.'
And she can't stop working after revealing she's penned a new dance track just this week. 'I just want to tour,' she said. 'That's the next step for me and hopefully build a good reputation as a good live act.'
