X Factor newbie Nicole Scherzinger has delivered a crushing blow to rival judge Tulisa Contostavlos after being voted more popular.

The former Pussycat Doll is six per cent ahead of her fellow panellist as 5,000 Metro readers got this year's Metro Celeb of the Year poll under way over the weekend.
Scherzinger, 34, has repeatedly played down claims of a rift with 24-year-old Tulisa during this year's series but is well on the way to getting one over her. However, it is another TV beauty who is in line to have the last laugh.
Voice's Jessie J, 24, is streaks ahead of her opposite numbers as the votes pour in. All three women have some way to go before they can lay claim to the trophy, though.
The One Direction boys are already miles ahead in the hunt for the prize.
