Unbelievable' after the 16-year-old lost out to James Arthur following Sunday night's shock sing-off. And he was just one of a string of celebrities and fans who tweeted their amazement following Ella's exit - with her name and that of James Arthur, who survived the sing-off - trending within minutes of the results being revealed. Simon Cowell said on Twitter that the result was 'unbelievable' (Picture: Fox) TV presenter Philip Schofield was among the stars leading the calls of support for the teenager, saying: 'Well!!!! That is an #xfactor catastrophe. Didn't see that coming. Only consolation to Ella & James, you don't have to win to be a star.' And he echoed a lot of others' sentiments afterwards when he added, 'I thought the shot of James & Ella on stage together was what I would see in the final.' Others who made their feelings known about the result included Olympic diver Tom Daley, who tweeted: 'Was not expecting that!!!', as the result was announced and later added: 'What a joke.' Made In Chelsea's Millie Mackintosh was also unimpressed, saying: 'How did @Ella__Henderson just get voted out? Wtf is going on!', while the teenager also won a show of support from several TOWIE cast members and former cast members. 'Can't believe @Ella__Henderson gone! She deserved to be in the final and more, Im gutted! Just the start from her im sure,' tweeted James Argent, while Cara Kilbey added: 'Seriously @Ella__Henderson has been voted off the x factor tonight? And that's the last show I'll ever watch #fixedxfactor.'
