Conservative MP Nadine Dorries has admitted David Cameron should be 'relieved' she has signed up to I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!
Although the 55-year-old Tory kept her place on the show under wraps, she's convinced the British PM will be glad to see the back of her for a few weeks.
'I am a thorn in his side. He will be relieved,' she said.
Defending her decision to quit the House of Commons for the jungle, Nadine said she hoped her stint Down Under would prove politicians are 'normal'.
She explained: 'A lot of people don't vote and if they can see I am a normal mother who comes from a poor background and who didn't go to a posh school, they may think they can be a politician too. Maybe they will trust us more.
'I know there will be a backlash that I am going on this show, but I would like to point out that I have never before taken a week away in Parliamentary time whereas a lot of other MPs have.'
And the mum-of-three, who is the Conservative MP for Mid-Bedfordshire, reckons camp life won't be a lot different to Parliament.
'Westminster is a jungle. Game playing, tactics, strategies. In Westminster you achieve everything by vote. This is the same. The parallels are huge,' she said.
'Everyone has different techniques in Westminster. Some people shut down, some people keep themselves to themselves and everyone has a different technique. This will be another one.
She added: I work in a jungle.'
