Girls Aloud most certainly lead the style stakes at the Royal Variety Performance but as soon as their sparkling show was over and they'd met the Queen, Cheryl Cole ditched her glamorous frock in favour of a much more casual look.
They were back at their best as they wowed on stage at the Royal Albert Hall last night.
But as soon as home time came, while her bandmates Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle opted for pretty dresses to head home in, Cheryl went for comfort.
Seen leaving through a back door at the impressive venue, Cheryl stepped out in a dark grey baggy sweatshirt which had the word 'global' emblazoned across it in green writing.
Clearly one for home comforts, the Geordie singer still managed to look glam with her full face of make-up and perfectly preened hair still intact.
The girls had upped the glamour stakes on the night, which celebrated 100 years of the variety show, in stunning black and gold, tulip cut, floorlength gowns.
They were then lucky enough to meet the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, which turned out to be the highlight of the evening for Cheryl.
On her way home she took to Twitter to gush about her night - and the Queen.
She wrote: 'The Queen is so delicate. She has hair like candy floss and tiny little dancing style shoes .. Awww #theroyalvariety2012.'
And her bandmates echoed her euphoria of the night, with Kimberley tweeting: 'Cannot believe I just met the Queen! What an amazing night! #royalvariety2012,' and Nicola later adding: 'I'm so excited I've just met the Queen. I've always wanted too meet her. She was sparkling from head to toe #royalvariety2012.'
Nadine also updated her followers, added: 'I met the Queen of England tonight & the Duke. The royal Albert hall was jumping with faces. A celeb spotters dream! Xxx hahaah great day!'
The girls weren't the only stars to light up the stage.
One Direction, looking dapper in matching suits, also took to the stage to perform for the Queen, sitting on lit up blocks as they performed their new track Little Things.
Following Girls Aloud's footsteps, Harry Styles later gushed on Twitter: 'Today, I met The Queen. Amazing night.. Can't believe it. Night!! .xx.'
Kylie Minogue also took her turn on the stage, dazzling n a sequinned gold dress with cut-out details and grinning from ear-to-era as she performed for Her Majesty.
Meanwhile, Katherine Jenkins also looked gorgeous in a floorlength strapless pink gown, as she performed with Spanish tenor Placido Domingo.
And Amanda Holden, who was helping David Walliams on presenting duties, wowed in a sparkling silver frock.
Speaking backstage on the night, Amanda revealed she is one of the lucky few to catch a glimpse of the Little Britain funnyman's baby scan too, after he revealed last week him and wife Lara Stone are expecting their first child.
She told the Daily Mirror: 'David is delighted, I think he's nervous. He showed me and Alesha Dixon some really cute scan pictures the other day when we saw him.
'It's a gorgeous, good-looking baby and I'm, sure it is going to be massively long and tall - so good luck with that Lara. He will be an excellent dad.
'He's in love with Burt, his dog, so he probably needs some human to put some love into as well.'
