Limahl's eviction from the jungle comes after MP Nadine Dorries became the first person to be voted off the show by the public on Wednesday.

He lost out in the public vote to Made In Chelsea star Hugo Taylor.

The singer came into the competition at a later stage with TV chef Rosemary Schrager and spent his days in the camp attempting to keep his hair spiked.

In his exit interview he joked about the lack of the 'gay vote'.

Of his time in the jungle, Limahl said: 'It's really a test. Being away from your loved ones and home comforts. The test of the other personalities was the biggest test and the biggest surprise.'

When asked whether coming late to the competition was a disadvantage, the singer quipped: 'I came in late to Kajagoogoo and they fired me!'

Of darts star Eric Bristow, who had been ruffling a few feathers over the last few days, the Too Shy singer revealed: 'He's a blunt instrument. But you can vaguely get a tune out of him. I actually like Eric. I find him very funny and he kept things lively for me.'

Limahl also explained why he felt so lonely towards the end of his time on the show.

'I thought I'd done something wrong,' he said 'I thought "I can't get through the next ten days on my own".

'It's all about lack of food, lack of nutrition, loss of everything, thrown into this mix with personalities who are basically strangers.'

The 80s star also tipped boxer David Haye, who is the bookies favourite along with TV chef Rosemary Schrager, to walk away the winner.

Rosemary won viewers over after she stood up to Eric on his behaviour in the camp.

After Bristow teased her about her weight, Rosemary said later on: 'He can bring it on as much as he likes, I don't care it doesn't worry me one little bit.'

Meanwhile, Ashley Roberts managed to bag eight stars for her campmates during her bush tucker trial, which saw her crawl through slime and rummage through fish guts.
