EXCLUSIVE: Nicky Byrne has revealed he will be backing Michael Vaughan for Strictly Come Dancing glory, providing he doesn't make it to the final.
The Westlife star and cricketing pro have struck up a real bromance during their time on the hit BBC1 show and Nicky has nothing but good things to say about his new pal.
He told Metro: 'Michael Vaughan is the David Beckham of cricket. He's got everything. He's got talent, he's got personality.
'All he needs now is an underwear range and his poster on the side of buses.
'He's got everything. He's great fun, he really is.'
And the 34-year-old singer even thinks the glitterball trophy is well with his best friend's reach.
Speaking about Vaughan's new and improved dancing skills, he raved: 'He's very strong now, especially on his ballroom. He's like me, we're just enjoying it and that's what it's all about.'
However, the Irish star would like to beat him to the crown if he could.
He explained: 'As long as I'm in longer than him I'll have the bragging rights.
'I'd like to go all the way but if I can stay in longer than him, I'm happy with that.'
Nevertheless, Nicky reckons its too soon to tell who will make it through to the grand finale next month.
He said: 'People backstage are saying it's one of the closest Strictly competitions they've ever had. At this point people have usually worked out who's going to be in the final.
'Everybody's got something. Denise is obviously a quality quality dancer and Lisa is just so so exciting and bubbly and everybody loves her and she can dance.
'Victoria and Louis have come from that Team GB background where all they know is to win. They know what it takes to win but I would like to see Vaughany win.
'I think anybody could win at this stage. I don't even think you could pick the final three at the minute, it's that close.'
