Rylan Clark has revealed Gary Barlow secretly 'loves' him, adding that their relationship is quite different backstage to what we see on The X Factor.
Earlier this week the 24-year-old wannabe quit Twitter after being plagued with hurtful comments and Rylan reckons Gary's on-stage ribbing is fuelling the abuse.
The flamboyant hopeful has been left frustrated because the two actually get on pretty well backstage and, in a bid to put an end to the abuse, is thinking about lifting the lid on their secret friendship.
He revealed: 'Without going into too much detail, if he does it again and carries on I'll just have to tell everyone how it really is. I'll lay it on the line.
'I mean I was just in the studio and he saw me and waved and smiled. He loves me. He can't keep his eyes off me,' he added.
Rylan is so sure of Gary's soft spot for him, he's even convinced the Take That star will pen a track for him after the show.
'Gary knows where the money is. Of course he'll write a song for me,' he added.
Nevertheless, despite their mutual affection, Rylan was narked to learn that Gary had slagged him off at a charity event earlier this week.
The Over 28s mentor got the crowd at his Mencap gig to chant 'get him out' after telling fans he thought Rylan was 'absolute sh***'.
Reflecting on his 'hateful' behavior, Rylan told The Sun: 'I'm not saying the word "bully", not in the slightest bit. I just look at it and think it's not nice to get a crowd to do something like that... ever.
'It's a bit hateful. I'm all up for the panto but these people in the crowd are hardcore Gary fans.'
He continued: 'If he turns round and says something, that's in their head and they're the ones who come on Twitter to give me abuse.
'I get a lot of "I Love Gary Barlow" people tweeting me and that's expected, but I don't think that helped this week.'
